Internal Chaos

Only I could manage to rock up to the supermarket checkout, without my wallet. So parked up the trolley and dashed out to the car, “arggh” no wallet. Raced home, “gah” no wallet. Mad frantic searching of the car and wallet is found *smacks, head with hand*. Headed back down hill to pay for my groceries. Driving home again, with groceries this time, realised I had no idea where my cellphone was. Mad driving ensued one handed, navigating pot holes and roadworks, while fumbling around looking for the damn thing … found cellphone and a quick check showed no missed calls “phew”. Arrived home utterly flustered in need of a good stiff drink (but settled for a cup of tea), my kids completely oblivious to the internal chaoticness that is their mother.

Methinks it’s definitely time to

  • get more sleep at night
  • finish weaning off my PND meds

Happy 2012

Arrived back home in PNG yesterday – absolutely exhausted. Loved spending Christmas and New Years with the family in Waipu. Only wish little miss 1 1/2 had of slept better at nights. Am more sleep deprived now, than before I went on holiday (due to the fact I am now back to breastfeeding the wee minx several times a night again). I’ve been back least then 24 hours and all suitcases are unpacked. Surely there must be an award somewhere for that.

Looking forward this year to:

  • running / jogging -> surely that equals weight loss
  • carving out some time for regular sewing and a little crafting
  • whipping my haus meri into shape (managing a housekeeper is not my forte, and when left to her own devices only the absolute bare minimum is done)
  • study … or at least contemplating some study, like a teaching degree via www.open.edu.au
  • blogging more would be nice too, specially since I don’t scrapbook or keep a non digital photo-album, I need to preserve some memories for my children when they’re older :)

Hubbies new ta moko – it is a disguised manaia with our whanau depicted in it. The middle koru is me (wifey) and the three koru round the bottom/side are the kiddies. The manaia represents Aaron, guardian of his whanau.

Over the Rainbow

Over the Rainbow

1. Mama & Bubba Bird, 2. Cat in the pot of gold at end of the rainbow, 3. Rainbow Scene, 4. Lepracaun

Xanthe’s modelling clay artwork done with her friend Rose who made the rainbow when she come for a sleepover on the weekend (there’s a cat sitting in the pot of gold).

The next day we dropped Rose home and stayed for a ‘mid winter christmas party’. Was very enjoyable. Aaron and I are thinking we’ll need to organise something similar next year when we’re in PNG.

I am in love with this … but wish I’d chosen a nicer yarn. Ain’t nothing wrong with acrylic, except when it’s cheap and nasty.

Nevermind, lesson learnt.

Think I am going to keep making more blocks until it’s big enough to use as a throw over the back of a couch or chair :)

My second time joining in with "My Creative Space". You can check out with other creative people are working on this week here:
