My “studio-space” (and I use that term very loosely) take’s up part of our sunroom. I got the half by the back door where people come and go …. so it’s not surprising that over the Christmas break it started to look like this:
Especially given that the last couple of weeks I’ve been sharing my space with our manic doodle (apparently *people* call labradoodle’s ‘doodles’, go figure):
I got sick of having to work at the breakfast bar. It’s also very uninspiring if one can’t sit down and play with their sparklies when feeling a creative urge. But thankfully underneath all the junk, I found my work bench:
I sat down last night and hammered out this for my sister’s birthday. I stunk the house out turning it black …. my antiquing process produces a smell that reminds me of rotten eggs and child-hood visits to Rotorua. Then I hammered it to within an inch of it’s life. I sure hope my sister appreciates it’s weathered vintage look – lol.
It says “circa 1986” on the back – because hey, that’s when she came into circulation … and what a cute little sister she was.
And while I had my photo tent out I snapped a shot of a necklace I made last year for a lovely local lady whose just had bubba number three (her precious wee heart baby).

Also, I just want to say a big thanks to Hay, she gave me another award (*gushes*). I think it may take me awhile to pass this one on though, I don’t know that many people in blogland. Ha ha, you guy’s crack me up. My life is more like that first photo – clutter is abound and running amuck around our house.
Funny thing was, pre kids and pre marriage, I was a neat feak. TOTAL NEAT FREAK.
Hay, we totally cheated with our sandpit. We dug out a garden bed and filled it up although it gets iced over in winter so the kids are making the most of it.
I am all about cheating!!! xxxx

I have been hanging out to see the kids and it would be really nice to see some photos of you and Aaron, because strangely enough I love and miss you both as well.
I have to say that Xanthe has the lovely angelic (but entirely misleading) look that Desarei and Chantelle used to wear a lot and Xavier has the true mischief look (so you know what to expect) just like his Uncle Joe and YOU and they are so adorable.
I have the photo of them in the little jeep wearing sunnies that is sooo cute, it sits on my pc screen so I can see it as I work, I can see it now actually.
My they have grown since then.
I LOVE your jewellery sweetie and its wondeful what you have done for Chantelle, I know she will love it. Remember what she said when she saw the key ring you did Joseph and Dad. This will make her very happy. She is isn’t on the net right now as they dont have the phone on in their new flat. I suspect she wont see this till she visits us tomorrow.
Oh, big question, do you want a pc, I can get one couriered down by dad. Can you answer today as Friday is the day dad can easily pick me and it up – I refuse to carry them down Queen st to the train. Celeron 1.7 – 2.00 processor 512MB ram. 40 GB hard drve running XP or it can wait till next Friday.
