Three Today
Happy 3rd birthday to my baby boy who gives me “squeezy” cuddles and blows the most delightful kisses.
Here’s his big sis reading him stories earlier this week….
And this one too please…
Argh, so sweet and still in their jimmy-jams.
Oh, and yeah … my house pretty much looks like that all the time.
{ I Made That } In love with Baltic Amber
We were at the Museum today, and I fell head over heels in love with their Baltic Amber showcase … some of the specimen’s they had were fantastic. So I thought it only fitting to post this pic here. Some of you guys may have already seen it on Flickr. A custom Baltic amber necklace based on my teething necklaces. It’s currently winging it’s way over to America. I spent quite a while designing the button/loop closure, and the entire thing’s been hand-knotted on a single stand of silk. NZ$95.00.
And here’s a WIP (work in progress) … my mousie applique pillow-case thingee for Hay. I just need to finish the green stitching and give the mouse a tail. Here’s the template I made:
And here it is with fabric fused and most of the stitching done. But inside out, I don’t want to spoil the surprise:
Honestly Hay, it won’t be much longer. And the Kapiti Kid’s bath bombs are luscious…L.U.S.C.I.O.U.S!!!!
(hope I spelt luscious right, otherwise I could be highly embarrassed)
Righto, I’m off to have a bath (*wink*).
Happy Belated Valentines
Xanthe made these cards for Aaron and I nearly two weeks ago …. I don’t think she realised that yesterday was valentines day though.
I was rather domesticated the other morning. While up at the crack of dawn drinking coffee and waiting for my troop to arise, I ironed the hankies (o.m.g). My MIL would be proud.
I am also working on a mouse applique pillow case for a blogger friend. The infamous Hippy Happy Hay. Xanthe and Aaron helped draft some mouse designs for me on the weekend.
The fabric for the applique just needs ironing, cutting, and fusing. Oh yeah, thats right, and being sewn on …. but all that aside it’s nearly done (lol).
Also, thanks to my awesome whanau in the urban tropics, we’ve received a couple of parcels in the last week. Thanks guys!!! Kids love the clothes too by the way….little Miss has already worn the new leotard to ballet.
And cheers, mum. Although those birds are freaky life-like, they will look great on the christmas tree. I missing one of my old ones thanks to the dog. And the kids think the recorders are great. Very headache inducing for moi though. Xavier likes to get his boogie on, and bops away with the recorder held in one hand, while simultaneously whacking the crap out anything else that doubles as a drum, with his spare hand. I don’t think he appreciated my rendition of “three blind mouse” though …. I’m not allowed to play his recorder anymore.
Another fun weekend, yep yep yep
I’ve already mentioned that we had a long weekend …. well no long weekend is complete without a bit of DIY. So apart from installing the new window pelmets he’d made, hubby also decided to insulate the roof.
While he was up there, he opted for a new air-vent in Xavier’s bedroom ceiling. Gawd bless his little cotton socks.
We finished off the day with a “poker night”. Being the absolutely brilliant house-wife I am, there were no clean glasses. I’d forgotten to turn the dishwasher on. So two of the blokes drank their ginger beer out of these…
The two Marks were there. Mark aka Mark Sparky, and Mark aka Michael Angelo Stuntman. But where oh where was Kelvin?
