{ I Made That } In love with Baltic Amber

We were at the Museum today, and I fell head over heels in love with their Baltic Amber showcase … some of the specimen’s they had were fantastic. So I thought it only fitting to post this pic here. Some of you guys may have already seen it on Flickr. A custom Baltic amber necklace based on my teething necklaces. It’s currently winging it’s way over to America. I spent quite a while designing the button/loop closure, and the entire thing’s been hand-knotted on a single stand of silk. NZ$95.00.

And here’s a WIP (work in progress) … my mousie applique pillow-case thingee for Hay. I just need to finish the green stitching and give the mouse a tail. Here’s the template I made:

Honestly Hay, it won’t be much longer. And the Kapiti Kid’s bath bombs are luscious…L.U.S.C.I.O.U.S!!!!

(hope I spelt luscious right, otherwise I could be highly embarrassed)

Righto, I’m off to have a bath (*wink*).

    Sweetie that necklace is pure delight.

    What a wonderful job you made of it. I am sure who ever owns it is going to treasure such a beautiful object.

    Reminds me of the gorgeous pearl bracelet a certain daughter made and gave to me for my Birthday last year, then took it back to make it smaller. It was utterly devine as well and I will certainly treasure it when I get it back again. The other utterly gorgeous one you made and gave me with the green beads containing pink roses and the lovely black balls with pink roses and the cream, pink and black beads is soo beautiful I never take it off. I have great please in informing people, who frequently ask me about it, that my daughter made it.

    You really are very clever.

    Actually that 25 days and 18 hours, is to the time we get on the plane to fly down and see you, its really 5 hours more than that.

    Omigosh, GORGEOUS necklace. If I had a hundred dollars going spare I’d be begging you to make me one! One day… one day. Credit card needs a serious attack before I get too excited about jewellery.

    Anyway, good work. And can’t wait to see the pillow. It looks fun :)
