A pinch …

and a punch for the first of the month (no returns, white rabbit, yadda yadda yadda … lol)

Had our first hard frost yesterday morning … car doors frozen shut. Needless to say, late to school. Well, actually, we arrived to school on time, but the kids wasted precious seconds eating ice of the car as we disembarked, that we walked into the classroom late.

Another frost this morning. Yay, the car doors were NOT frozen shut!!! But it took me a good ten minutes to scrap ice of the front window with my “spotlight” discount card. Yes, late to school again. Crap! I wanted to say “holy crap”, but didn’t think that would be in good form given Xanthe’s at a Catholic school.

Anway, saw this on Etsy:

Camera Necklace at Kaylah7.etsy.com

And instantly thought of Hay! I mean seriously, check out her Flickr. Luckily, she counts me as a friend (thanks Hay), so I also get to see her hidden photos (very secret squirrel), and very oar-some awesome.

Lol! Yes, I MUST have one. I am going to order one right now. Thanks chick!

Hahaha on the frosty situation, definitely crappy. I couldn’t help giggling at visions of you scraping the window with your spotlight card though. :D

Hey Sweetie, dont you hate that. Makes you wish for an airconditioned garage. Nevermind, bet the kids loved it.

How are you all? We still havent got the phone on, hope its soon so we can link and say hello. Telecom of coures, cant do anything quickly. Have to rely on them even thought we are with clear.

I am going to book some tickets to come see you, over the next week or so. Are there any weekends this month that are bad for you guys.

Hanging out to see you all again. Feels like years not months.

have a great day and hugs and kisses all round.

Hay - I clicked on the link and *bam*, it’s been sold, you funny chick.

Mum - need to txt you back. Popped out last night, and cellphone went flat (all charged and raring to go).

Katie - They are some seriously cool tats. But no, not my hands. I’ve got one on the top of my foot … and a list a mile long of other’s I’d like. Well, maybe not a mile long, more like two. And seriously, I want my nose done like Sarah Bean. My dad said he’d dis-own me if I got my nose pierced. But what the hey, we live in different cities. Oh, and yes, still wanting dreads, lol.

  7. mum on July 2nd, 2008 2:27 pm

YOURE NOT getting your nose done. Oh my god!!
Chantelle has a lovely black spot on her nose from when she had hers done. And think of what your kids will say once they hit 8.

We would feel so bad if you did that. There, hope that guilt worked.

Your dolphin on your foot is cute, I give you that, I think you should have some white added to it for the waves that would be great.

But look at it this way, how would you feel at my age, full of tats and nose piercings. Oh, so elegant. I think not.

See, doesnt matter if you are 3… , your still my baby.

    lots of love mum

    lol
nose piercing is a rite of passage lol.
it happens when ya hit the thirties.
you can always take it out, mine has left no scar at all.
but then, it was only in for a month…
(yeah, left the gruesome details at SB’s :P)
    love X

rofl, your mum is awesome. *giggle*

i was all busy looking at the tat - palm of the hand! way cool!
maybe we need to start a forum of “trying to decide what tat to get next and where to put it” ideas & discussion! i’m in :D

  10. Jacinta on July 4th, 2008 5:25 pm

I’ll just pretend I didn’t hear mum, lol.

I totally agree Katie - a rite of passage!!!

I know Sarah, we so should. In fact YOU should, and I’d so be there!

  11. mum on July 7th, 2008 1:40 pm

ya da yada yada, right, you sound like your dad. he said that yesterday.

Good to talk to you yesterday and as to nose piercing, how old are you again?

Might be awkward if the kids knock it.

Anyway, I am sure you will handle it with the aplomb and lady like manners we taught you. I am hoping you will, your actions always reflect on your parents.
Good to talk to you last night.

    love mum

  12. mum on July 10th, 2008 1:50 pm

    Hi Sweetie.
Have you found your lady like manners again? I used one of your expressions two days ago -”as Jacinta would say - Can’t be ars….ed” Funny really, and I was so hot on you speaking properly.

Anyway, last night dad and I looked at tickets and he is going to ask for August 13th and 14th off today, then I planned to book them tonight. WE probably wil; still do that. BUT, I saw the Grabseat deal today(curtesy of a lady at work) with flights between Auckland\Dunedin at $79.00. So I booked for us to come the 17th, a Friday night and leave Sunday night. So we get a weekend in there.
Those are the days and times I can’t usually get as they are so expensive and theres not much point coming unless we get their Friday night and leave late Sunday. And it turns out that Xanthe’s Birthday weekend, what a stroke of luck.
I am so excited already. Dad doesnt know about those dates yet, as I did it at work.
I want to see you all sooner than that so I hope to come down those August Dates. If Dad comes or not.

I had a quick chat with Aaron this morning, thought I would call and let you know I had the tickets. Poor devil sounded ill, is he working too hard do you think?

Well have a lovely day Sweetie, oh and we have the computer set up and Dad can’t find the Camera, but I will find it this weekend so we can say Hello.
Lots of love to you all.

  14. Mum on July 11th, 2008 8:31 pm

    Hi love.

Just to confirm, we will arrive a 9.30 am Friday 25th of August. Friday week. Yahooo. I cant wait to give you all a big hug. Soo excited.

I just checked out your friend Hays blog.

How interesting, they went to the country to live. Thats what we want to do, but we have a mortgage on the land, have to work. I can’t wait to be there but and be growing our own food and stuff. Preserving food and having a great big garden and a few chooks.

To tell the truth we talked about moving out up north when you were little and we thought staying in the city would give you an Desareri ( as Joseph and Chantelle were stll glints in your Dad’s eye at that stage) more opportunities Bah that, you would all have done what ever you wanted to anyway and had a great upbringing.. I can just imagine what it woudld it wold have been living on the land and going to the a little school like the one at Waipu. I did that once as a child and it was great. We should have done that, sorry we didnt now.

We should have done it then for you and Desarei and then the others. Nevermind live and learn. Can’t wait till we can live there and plant stuff and preserve food and just get away from the City.

Hay and her family seem to have it together, how neat. Dad and I have talked about containers and doing the same thing. But if I have to work in town then I want a house . In some waysi am sorry we wont have kids who can enjoy the country living, but we arent going there again.

You have some really interesting on line friends, how lovely.

Will talk to you during the weekend.

lots of love to you all.

    mum

I think you may be confusing Hay with Sarah Bean. I’m glad you’re happy about the land up north. It’s a shame that the last 8 year or so everyone was lead to believe Otago was where you guy’s were going to end up - your “home” was what you kept calling it … nevermind. But it is a shame my children don’t have their grandparents in their day to day life. Xanthe still has memories, although Xavier seems to think Nana and Popsey are on the other side of the phone / web-cam. And yes, I do have some really great friends in the blogosphere.

    Hi love.

I would like to put a Jewellery order in but I can’t see it on your jewellery site.

Can you please make me a pearl necklace to match the gorgeous pearl bracelet that you gave me. Or it you have one made already one with the pink swaroski ( I can’t remember how to spell that) beads as well. I dont mind which one actually but I want it to go with the pearl bracelet.

I will pay for it at what ever you usually charge. I dont expect family discount. I would have brought it at Craftworld if I had the chance but I havent been there for ages and now your closing the store.

Just let me know how much. I can’t wait actually. Will I be able to wear it all the time, like i do with the beautiful coloured one you gave me? I dont take that off except when I dye my hair? Or will I just be able to wear it during the day?

    It will be lovely.

I have decided that if you havent had time to make my bracelet smaller, then I will take it and wear it like it is, when we visit.

    Lots of love
    mum

No worries … I can make it to fit when you are down visiting at the end of the month.

Hi love, I just read your last reply.

Its funny isnt it that Xanthe and Xavier seem so close to us and yet we live so far apart. IT must have been all that early close bonding. I am sure it was actually. Its amazing how feelings can cause such strong memories that arent always attached to strong visual memories. I know that if I pick up Xavier and start rocking him, he instantly relaxes into me. He can only remember that sub-consciously because he was so young. And Xanthe has that absolutely bond thats just there and it shows everytime we visit.

It is - an absolute tragedy we dont have day to day interaction and undoubtedly my fault. I just try and keep up the link with them so they get some good memories. Thankfuly Aarons mum is close and she can be a big part of their lives instead of us. In reverse to when you are in Auckland.

So looking forward to seeing you all. It will belovely to arrive this time and the kids will be at the airport. It must be funny for them they we usually just appear when they wake up in the morning.

Talk to you later sweetie. lots of love.

Its great to see so many and get to see the old ones again. Well off to bed, will check more out tomrrow.

thanks love. we appreciate you putting the photos up, makes us feel part of things and able to see you all growing and developing.

lots of love and hugs to all.

    Hi love,

    Hope your all okay.
It was great to talk to the kids.

Xanthe very sweetly said. “Please can you speak louder Nana, I can’t hear you” Its was really cute, so lady like - wonder where she got that from, hopefully you.

I am sure Xavier said bacon, when I asked him what he had had for lunch. It was so clear, maybe he made it up.

Is there anything you want me to bring down with me next week?
And do you know if Desarei is okay. I have called and texted her. but not spoken much to her? Perhaps its just timing.

We are having Dinner at the Murphys tonight.
Quite funny as its a Pot luck dinner, bring what you want, but Aunty Donna asked Rachel to bring Apple pie, she makes the most beautiful pie. So its pot luck for all us except Joseph and Rachel. They got their orders. funny.

Well have a great day love.

lots of love to you all.
